It never ceases to amaze me....

I saw this on Moldy Chum and thought I would pass it along. If you see anyone doing this report them and then slap them upside the head please.

Oregon State Police are reporting that there are some idiots on the Rogue catching wild steelhead, clipping their adipose, then releasing them so the next person to catch the fish can keep it as a hatchery fish.

It's not just happening on the Rogue.

While somewhat isolated now on the Rogue, the practice has been more pronounced on the nearby Umpqua River, where no wild steelhead can be kept.

Jail time and heavy fines await anyone caught clipping wild steelhead.

First Love

I spent an incredible winter day yesterday with my family in the mountains I love. Both my kids are true Norwegians and took to the slopes with ease. The video is of my 4 year old son about 3 days into his skiing experience. My daughter can be seen briefly in purple at the beginning after the orange snow fence then she is GONE!

I am seriously thinking about cashing it all in and becoming a ski bum again. The snow can pull hard too!

Dan Callahan Memorial UPDATE

Posted by Mark Thursday, February 2, 2012 0 comments

Thanks for all the emails to the Forest Service, they got a lot!

This whole thing was started by one individual who has too much time on his hands and has to be a vocal minority, stir things up for no apparent logical reason and cost everyone a lot of headaches. He would not rescind his complaint at the meeting today when we asked him to do so.Now we have to sit back and see what the powers that be do with it next.

Stay tuned

Thanks again
